Welcome back to another NS CTTC B
As you could probably tell by the last video I am still getting use to being on the other side of camera, I spent most of the last 10 years behind the camera filming others, so this side is still all new to me, so bare with me and I promise it will get better.
I have gotten a few questions from people since I posted the last video/ blog most of which had to do with fitness and bodybuilding in general, asking what kind of shape I am in for this show, so I did write a little blog about it, but I'll go over it in a little more detail here.
When I decided it was time to try and put on some weight I was 5'11 and 120 lbs and got tired of looking like a stick, so I tried to put on weight, but the problem was I didn't know anything about it at all, so I just ate and ate and ate, and didn't go to the gym at all and I got to 201 lbs.. but a very fat 201 lbs. Then I started to date my wife who had just competed in the NSABBA show and placed third, and she started to take me to the gym with her and if I told you I had no idea what I was doing it would be an understatement, I was probably the worst training partern at that time anyone could have, I complained, I quit the gym everyday (even though I never missed a work-out I still said I was quitting at the end of everyone of them lol) luckly she is the greatest trainer in the history of the world, so she put up with me haha. I still wasn't dieting right by any means when I first started to go to the gym, so not much change took place, then I was like ok, if I'm going to do this its time to do it right, so I took the bull by the horns and started to diet, diet, diet. I went from a fat 201 fat to 164lbs, and the next step of my plan was to get back up to 200 with out being fat, which proved to be the hardest thing I have ever done, it was so easy to put on 81 pounds of fat, but now to put on 36 pounds of not fat it seemed like it would be easier to move the earth, I couldn't put on a pound no matter how much I ate, So again getting very frustrated with not being able to do what I want, I started to eat more chicken, pasta, rice, steak and potatoes than humanly possiable, which was hard for me cause I am not the type of person that likes to sit down and eat, but I did it and over time I got up too 203 lbs, which is the most I have ever weighted and one of the happiest days ever when I stepped on the scale and saw that number, but I couldn't stay there, I couldn't keep eating that much food lol, so I dropped down and now I weight between 185-190 which for the time being I am happy with. I am in the gym pretty much 6-7 days a week and I train in the morning, I don't like training at other times, its just sorta my thing. Pretty much all I have done for the past 5 years is read, and study about bodybuilding and nutrition, I'm no expert by any means, but I figure its good to know as much as possiable about what you are doing.
People also ask me if I think I am in shape? My answer is generally yes, I am in shape, but do I think I am as in shape as a MMA fighter? No, not one bit, it is a totally differently styling of training which I am sure is going to kick my ass, but I am very much looking forward to the change in training and the ass kicking I am sure is coming my way.
I was getting pretty nervous with not knowning the CTTC schedule because thats just the type of person I am, I like to think I am pretty organized, so not knowning stuff gets me worried, even though most of the time it doesn't really matter, but I was getting worried that the times of training and the stuff we have to do wasn't going to work out with my schedule, and I wasn't going to be able to go to all the stuff, then they posted the schedule and I don't think it could have been any better if I picked it out myself, if it stays like this there are not many times I am going to have to miss which is fantasic to me, because I want to go as much as possiable. So I am very thankful that worked out.
As I said before for any and all CTTC info visit all the links listed below and if you have any questions comments or anything else, email me at maritimewrestling@hotmail.com, or comment on this blog or video depending how you are viewing. Thanks again for taking the time to check this out. Please feel free to share this video / blog anywhere and everywhere you want!
One last thing.. We start filming for the show on January 20th at Titans MMA, not really sure what we are going to be doing that day, but thats when it all begins, thats when the journey of NewScott going to into Mixed Marital Arts starts, are you ready?
